Newark Viggen update

Further to the news item on page 18 of the new FlyPast, here are the latest images of the repainting of Newark Air Museum’s Saab Viggen.

Work has now been completed in rubbing down the flaking paint on the aircraft’s upper surfaces. In some areas this work has returned the aircraft to bare metal, all of which has now been primed leaving the aircraft ready for the reapplication of the distinctive ‘splinter pattern’ camouflage markings worn by the AJSH 37 variant. Progress will be ongoing through the early part of this year.

Thanks to Howard Heeley for this.
